love matters in quality relationships

My message today is on using love in everyday living. Love matters when you desire to have healthy human relationships that are based on truth, integrity and care. As a survivor of Domestic Violence and Abuse, I know what marital love is, not because I received it from the man I was married to, but I learnt about what it is from what it is not.

Becoming a business woman has taught me another angle of love. To be clear, it is love as a “doing word”, the foundation of treating people with care and dignity. When we are committed to giving this kind of love our work ethics are transformed – from creating products and services to relationships with clients and staff.  I have learnt that love is the best principle of economics, hardly mentioned in business circles.

Love causes you to care more about how people on the receiving end of what you do benefit the most. Your work becomes dedicated to serving to make a difference more than generating revenue alone. Business becomes an opportunity to serve thereby becoming very healthy. This virtue of love creates phenomenal results, and lasting quality relationships with those we serve, and work with.

In whatever sphere you work in, I would like to strongly encourage you to selflessly and intentionally apply love as a “doing word”. It is a crucial virtue not only for quality personal relationships, but for all quality relationships. Intentional love changes you inside out. It also transforms your world, for you and for those around you.
