“Rediscovering Your Destiny After Overcoming A Life Crisis”

Last Saturday Kudakwashe Nyakudya delivered a very moving and highly informative teaching on “Rediscovering Your Destiny After Overcoming A Life Crisis”. This was at the Inspired Khaya Conference 2014 which was created by fervent author, Vonayi Nyamazana, to inspire international Christian women to change the world through following their dreams and passions.

Kudakwashe kick started her teaching by boldly speaking about her gruesome experiences as a victim of Domestic Violence & Abuse (DVA) at the hands of the Christian man, whom she lived with for 10 years. She explained that she was assisted by the police to flee from this abusive marriage, and stayed in a women’s refuge for almost 6 months for safety, before rehousing into the community. Kudakwashe added that her daring actions to stand against abuse resulted in ostracism by the majority of those she had known as relatives and friends for many years.

What was of profound inspiration to the delegates was the courage, strength, tenacity, and integrity, that shone thorough Kudakwashe as she exposed the naked truths about the ‘taboo’ topic of DVA – which many Christians do not openly talk about. She empowered, victims and survivors – to speak out and seek help, society  – not to judge and discriminate adult and child victims, and faith leaders – to provide adequate wide ranging support including practical resources.

It is important to note that Kudakwashe also imparted invaluable knowledge and wisdom that motivated delegates to uncover and pursue their destiny – which during difficult periods in life can be masked by the impact of crises. She emphasised that any victim of DVA (or any other crisis) needs to be reassured that though DVA devastates every area of life, it is possible for them to achieve complete healing, freedom and all round restoration.

Kudakwashe’s teaching concluded with an emphasis for the delegates to finish their God ordained purpose and to prosper in their maximum potential. She declared that the presence of a life crisis does not change an individual’s destiny, neither does going through a crisis remove the potential one has deep inside. But it is up to an individual to decide how to use their crisis to benefit their destiny.
