We strongly encourage you to plan to attend the full conference for maximum benefit. This conference is open to delegates in and around Derbyshire.
Speakers: Representing multi-faith communities, professionals, third sector organisations, academics and politicians, our speakers will give multi-dimensional perspectives on the occurrence of DVA in faith communities. There will be in depth insight on the needs of adult and child victims in faith communities; and a bold emphasis on how to facilitate radical work with perpetrators of DVA, given that they are the key agents of DVA.
Speakers include: Alan Charles, Derbyshire Police & Crime Commissioner; Dr Musharraf Hussain OBE, DL, Chief Executive Officer, Karimia Institute; Kudakwashe Nyakudya, Founder Director of Kahrmel Wellness; Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich, Nottingham Jewish Synagogue; Justin Humphreys, Head of Safeguarding, Churches Child Protection Advisory Service; Alison Byrne, Specialist Midwife for FGM, Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust. These include – The co-existence of DVA & Child Sexual Abuse; Legal perspectives, including the needs of migrant victims; Spiritual Abuse; Female Genital Mutilation; The complex dynamics confronting victims; The behavioural patterns of perpetrators; Fostering complete restoration of adult & child victims; and Using faith to find healing & restoration.
The outcome of our Derbyshire educational conference will undoubtedly contribute to the eradication of DVA in the long term, especially in faith communities.
